Long driveway snow removal in Durham Region.

5.0from 3 Google reviews, every one of them five stars. Read them on Google

Long driveway snow removal in Durham Region is priced on the driveway, not the postcode. A circular driveway, a third bay or a laneway running back off the road is two to three times the clearing of a suburban pad.

Green in summer. Clear in winter.

Most properties are priced from the map. A real number the same day, no sales visit.

What makes a driveway a long driveway

Length past about 100 feet

A standard Durham driveway runs 40 to 60 feet from the road to the garage. Past about 100 feet the machine is doing a different job: more passes, more places to put the snow, and a bank that builds all winter.

A circular or horseshoe drive

Two entrances, an island in the middle and no natural place to stack. It takes longer than a straight driveway twice its length, so we time the shape properly before we put a number on it rather than guessing from what the frontage looks like.

A private laneway

A laneway off a concession road is cleared before the municipality reaches your road, not after. That is the point of it, and it is why the price is set on the length of the run rather than on the size of the house at the end of it.

A driveway of that length is very often unpaved, and loose stone behaves nothing like asphalt under a blade. If yours is gravel, read how a gravel driveway is cleared through a Durham winter before you compare quotes.

What it costs, and what changes past 400 feet

Up to 400 feet the price is the band your lot gives: $1,750 plus HST from 0.35 to 1.0 acre and $2,600 plus HST from 1.0 to 3.0 acres, unlimited all winter.

Past 400 feet the run stops behaving like a driveway. The surcharge is $200 for each further 100 feet on top of the grand estate figure, worked out from the length while you are on the call. Every other estate price sits on the estate pricing page.

Questions people actually ask about long driveways

How much is snow removal for a long driveway in Durham Region?

The seasonal package is $1,750 plus HST on a lot of 0.35 to 1.0 acre and $2,600 plus HST from 1.0 to 3.0 acres. Both cover the driveway, the walkway and the salting, unlimited, all winter.

Do you need to come and look at it first?

No. You tell us the lot size and the rough length of the driveway and we price it on the call, rather than making you book an appointment to find out what something costs.

Is a circular driveway more than a straight one?

It falls in the same band, priced on your lot size. There is no separate circular surcharge, because the band already carries it.

Do you clear the windrow the plow leaves across the end?

Yes, on the same visit, and last on purpose. Clear it first and the municipal plow buries it again on its next pass.

Most driveways are not long driveways

Measure yours before you call. Forty to sixty feet from the road to the garage is an ordinary two car pad, and the standard seasonal package at $800, $975 or $1,200 plus HST covers it properly. We will put you there and say so on the call, because selling an estate band to a driveway that does not need one is how a company loses a customer in the second winter.

Long driveway snow removal across Durham Region

A long driveway is the one case where snow removal in Durham Region stops being a banded price. The length is measured and the price follows it, because the time on site does.

Residential snow removal in Durham Region on a standard driveway is priced from the town pages: Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Bowmanville and Courtice. A whole property measured in acres belongs on the acreage page instead. Taking the measurement yourself, and the Oshawa by-laws that govern where the snow may then be stacked, are covered in snow removal for large driveways in Oshawa.

Why is the morning clearing time a target rather than a promise?

Because a promise about the morning is a promise about the weather, and nobody can make one of those honestly. What I can promise is where you sit in the route and the order the route runs in, and both of those are published on this site. In eighteen years of Oshawa data the worst winter had twenty four clearing days and the mildest had four, and a promise written to survive the worst of those is a promise priced for it. A target I actually hit is worth more to you than a promise I have quietly priced the risk of breaking.

One of these goes on each page and it is replaced monthly. If the question you have is not here, ask it: 905-244-5779.

A real number for your driveway, before you book

Tell us how far it runs from the road to the garage and we will price it on the call. The winter route closes when it is full, because a driveway of this length takes two to three times the route minutes of an ordinary one and a winter morning is only so long.
