The Bowmanville streets we build around
Bowmanville is three different jobs with one town name on it, and which one you have depends on which side of town you bought on. Here is how I read each of them before I put a price on anything.
Northglen and Brookhill: the new builds
Both sit on the north and north west edges of town, which is the exposed side of Bowmanville and the side the weather arrives from. The lawns are first year sod over subsoil a builder has had trucks standing on, so they want a higher cut and some patience before they want anything else. The driveways are the opposite problem: wide, but newly sealed, so a blade takes them to the pavement in one pass.
Aspen Springs: where the route starts
Compact, well laid out and close to the Highway 401 access that connects back to the Oshawa base. This is where I start the Bowmanville run and where I have the most members, so an address here sits early in the mowing week and early on a storm night.
Mearns, Soper Creek and Longworth: the leaf streets
The established family subdivisions through the middle and east of town. Mature trees around Mearns Avenue and Soper Creek make for serious autumn leaf volume, and the spring and fall cleanups are included rather than charged per visit.
A straight answer about the historic core
If you are in the older heritage streets around King Street or Church Street, a twelve month membership is usually the wrong buy. The lawns are small, the parking is short or on the street, and the access is awkward enough that I cannot run the property the way I run a subdivision lot. A cleanup bought on its own is the better fit and I am glad to come and do those.

Those are targets rather than guarantees. Silver does not plow the driveway: it takes the municipal windrow off the end by 5 PM, plus four banked clears a season.

If it is in town, almost certainly. The more useful answer to what you are really asking is that the postal code does not move the price, it moves where you sit on a storm night. Where I already have several members on one street, that street is one stop for me instead of four, and Northglen, Brookhill and Aspen Springs are where I have the most. Port Darlington is on the water. Is it different there?
In summer, no. In winter, yes. Nothing breaks the wind between those streets and the open lake, so a morning that leaves the rest of town clear can still shut a driveway down there. A fixed monthly price covers the extra passes instead of billing them.
How much salt do you put down?
The least that works. Bowmanville drains toward Soper Creek and the lake, and municipal storm drains discharge without treatment, so whatever goes on a driveway ends up in the water. I salt the surfaces people walk on and leave the rest of the property alone.

In north Oshawa that means MacInally Court, Fleetwood Drive, Clearbrook Drive, Wadebridge Crescent, Iribelle Avenue, Surrey Drive and French Street. Further south it means Harris Avenue, Goodman Drive, Ritson Road South and Athol Street East. There are two commercial sites as well, one of them on King Street West.
Nineteen is not a lot and we are not going to dress it up. It is the first year. What it does mean is that every one of those driveways is on a route somebody can name, and that if your town says open above, you would be the first one on it rather than the last one served. Counted by hand from the client list and re-counted on the day a contract is signed.

Why is your season longer than everybody else's?
Because November and April are when the awkward storms happen, and a season that ends on March 31 ends three weeks before the last one. November 1 to May 1 is six months and both ends of it are published, which is the part that matters: a season you can read is a season you can hold me to.
