May 1 to November 1
Estate lawn care in Durham Region.
Estate lawn care in Durham Region is a different job from a subdivision cut. Half an acre to three acres of turf under mature trees takes more machine, more time, and a fall cleanup measured in loads.
Green in summer. Clear in winter.
What an estate property actually needs
Weekly, not when it looks long
Never remove more than a third of the blade. On a large lawn a skipped week is not a tidy up, it is a scalping, and on clay soil in July that is the damage that lasts.
A cleanup measured in loads
Mature trees are why people buy these properties and why the fall cleanup is the biggest job of the year. A half acre under oaks can carry three or four times the leaf volume of a subdivision lot. A one off cleanup on an estate lot runs $650 and up.
The edges are what people actually see
On a large property the eye reads the edges before the grass. Beds, walkways and the laneway edge are cut every visit.
What an estate lawn costs
Gold is $349 a month plus HST on a lot of 0.35 to 1.0 acre and $519 a month from 1.0 to 3.0 acres. That is the weekly cut and both cleanups, with the driveway added from November 1.
Your lawn is the measured turf, never the size of the lot, because a three acre property carrying a house, a laneway and an acre of bush is nowhere near three acres of grass to cut. Every estate figure, Silver and Platinum included, sits on the estate pricing page.
Estate lawn questions
What does estate lawn care cost in Durham Region?
The membership is $349 a month plus HST on a lot of 0.35 to 1.0 acre, and $519 a month from 1.0 to 3.0 acres. That buys the weekly cut, the spring cleanup and the fall cleanup, with snow from November 1.
Do you charge by the acre?
The band is set by your lot size, which is the number you already know. Inside the band the price is fixed.
Can I have the lawn without the snow?
Yes. Silver is the lawn side with a winter backup rather than a plow, and it is $229 a month plus HST at estate size.
Who actually does the work?
The owner, on your property, on the same day each week. You are not getting a different crew every Tuesday.
Where the estate band is the wrong answer
A third of an acre is the line. Under it the standard membership at $129 a month plus HST does exactly the same work on the same day of the week, and the estate band only adds money to the invoice. We would rather cut your lawn for ten summers at the right price than for one summer at the wrong one.

Why do you cut so high?
Because on Ontario clay a lawn cut short in July is a lawn growing crabgrass in August. Short grass lets light reach the soil surface, and light at the soil surface is the one thing crabgrass seed is waiting for. Cutting high shades it out, keeps the roots deeper and gets the lawn through a dry spell that would otherwise brown it off. It is the single setting that changes the most and it costs nothing.
One of these goes on each page and it is replaced monthly. If the question you have is not here, ask it: 905-244-5779.
