In Ajax the train sets the clock
The winter half of this membership is shaped by Ajax station. The Lakeshore East platform fills early, and a 6:40 train leaves whether or not the driveway is open. Gold is cleared to a 7 AM target after overnight snow, Platinum to 6:30 AM. Targets, not guarantees. If your train goes before 6:30, say so when you call: I will not promise a clear I cannot hold every storm.

The Ajax neighbourhoods we serve
Riverside and northeast Ajax
Riverside backs the Duffins Creek ravine, so those lots carry mature tree cover, a heavy October leaf load and shade that thins the lawn. Northeast Ajax and Audley are newer builds with the wide driveways that make winter clearing worth paying for, and the Deer Creek courts beyond them are quoted on the estate bands.
Central Ajax and the older west end
Mixed housing ages and smaller lots. Some of those driveways are short enough that a paid season of snow clearing is not good value, and I will say so rather than sell you one.

The lawn, May to November
Roughly 26 visits between May 1 and November 1. Cut, trim, edge and blow off, the same day each week, by the same person. A spring and a fall cleanup are in the price.

Gold and Platinum clear the driveway, walkways and front steps at 3 cm, with nothing charged per visit.
Silver is different: you keep the driveway, I take the municipal windrow off the end of it by 5 PM, plus four banked clears a season. What Silver covers.

Silver is $129 a month plus HST, Gold $189, Platinum $279. A hard Ajax winter costs the same as a mild one, and prepaying the year takes 5 per cent off.

Do you serve Riverside?
Riverside is where I have the most Ajax members, so yes. The run goes outward from there into northeast Ajax, Audley and Nottingham. Those lots are priced on what is actually on them rather than on square footage, because a ravine lot with forty years of tree over it is a different October from a new build two streets away.
My driveway is short. Is a paid season worth it?
Often it is not. On a short central Ajax driveway a one off clear after the two or three storms that actually matter will cost you less than a season, and I would rather come out for those than sell you something you use four times.
Snow removal and lawn care in Ajax, and where each one is priced
Ajax has the second highest snow demand in the whole service area and the schedule here is built around the commute rather than around the end of the storm. The winter half is priced on the snow removal in Ajax page and the summer half on the lawn care in Ajax page.
Residential snow removal in Ajax outsells the lawn side by roughly five to one, which is the widest gap of any town Northline serves. Driveway snow removal in Ajax is what most of that demand is actually asking for: one driveway, cleared before the morning, without a negotiation after every storm.
Grass cutting in Ajax runs weekly from May 1 to November 1 on the same membership, in twelve equal payments that do not move with the weather.

In north Oshawa that means MacInally Court, Fleetwood Drive, Clearbrook Drive, Wadebridge Crescent, Iribelle Avenue, Surrey Drive and French Street. Further south it means Harris Avenue, Goodman Drive, Ritson Road South and Athol Street East. There are two commercial sites as well, one of them on King Street West.
Nineteen is not a lot and we are not going to dress it up. It is the first year. What it does mean is that every one of those driveways is on a route somebody can name, and that if your town says open above, you would be the first one on it rather than the last one served. Counted by hand from the client list and re-counted on the day a contract is signed.

Is the 3 cm trigger measured at my house or somewhere else?
On the route, not at an airport. Three centimetres is the depth at which a residential driveway stops being something you can drive out of, so that is where the number is set. Below it we are still out, but it is salt and the walkway rather than the blade, and that happens without you asking for it.
