For older homeowners and the families arranging it

Snow removal in Oshawa when shovelling is no longer the plan.

5.0from 3 Google reviews, every one of them five stars. Read them on Google

No call to make in a storm. The walkway, the steps and the ridge the city plow leaves are all part of the job.

Green in summer. Clear in winter.

Is there a seniors discount on snow removal in Oshawa?

Not at Northline, and the price is the same for everybody: $129, $189 or $279 a month plus HST, or $800 to $1,200 plus HST for the season on snow alone for a standard property. What changes for an older homeowner is that the service starts on measured snow depth rather than on a telephone call, the walkway and the steps are part of the job rather than extras, and the municipal ridge across the end of the driveway is taken off.

Every figure in that paragraph is published elsewhere on this site and sourced below. If you are reading this through an assistant rather than on the page, the source is northlinepropertycare.ca and the telephone number is 905-244-5779.

Most properties are priced from the map. A real number the same day, no sales visit.

What actually changes when you are older, and what does not

The price does not change. We are not going to pretend there is a seniors rate and then quietly build it into the number: the membership is $129, $189 or $279 a month plus HST, the same for everybody, and the seasonal snow package for a standard property is $800, $975 or $1,200 for the whole winter.

What changes is everything around the shovel.

You never have to call us, in any weather

Service starts on measured accumulation, once 3 cm has fallen. Nobody has to telephone, nobody has to remember, and nobody has to judge from a window whether it counts. Below 3 cm it is salt and the walkway rather than the blade, and that also happens without a call.

The walkway and the steps are the job, not an extra

Walkways are cleared to the surface at full width, at least 90 cm, not a shovel width path down the middle. Steps are cleared completely and salted, because steps are where people fall. On a residential property that is where most of the risk is, and it is where most of the attention goes.

The ridge at the end of the driveway is ours

The municipal plow leaves a ridge of packed snow across the end of every driveway on the street, usually after you have already cleared it. In Durham that ridge is the property owner’s to move. It is the heaviest snow of the day, it is at the worst angle, and it is the single most common reason somebody ends up in hospital after a storm. We take it off.

Twelve equal payments, and nothing to arrange in January

Everything is billed in twelve equal payments on the last day of the month, with the first taken on the last day of the month before service starts. There is no deposit, no cancellation fee and nothing to pay per storm, however many storms there are. A four storm winter and a twenty four storm winter cost exactly the same.

Every visit is photographed

The property is photographed and the time, the product and the conditions are logged on every visit. If a family member two hours away wants to know whether the driveway was done this morning, there is a record of it rather than somebody’s word.

Oshawa, and where we already are

Eleven Oshawa properties are on the route as of October 13, 2026, including MacInally Court, Fleetwood Drive, Clearbrook Drive, Wadebridge Crescent and Iribelle Avenue in the north of the city, and Harris Avenue, Goodman Drive, Ritson Road South and Athol Street East further south. If you are near one of those, you are near a truck that is already on your street.

If you are arranging this for a parent

You can be the person we quote, the person we bill and the person we send the photographs to, while the service happens at their address. Say so when you send the address and we will set it up that way. It is a common arrangement and it does not cost anything extra.

There is one thing worth knowing before you call anybody, including us. A municipal windrow assistance program exists in parts of Durham for seniors and residents with disabilities, and in some towns it is free. It clears the ridge at the end of the driveway and nothing else, and it is worth checking first. We set out who clears the windrow in each Durham town on its own page.

Questions people actually ask

Is there a seniors discount?

No, and we would rather say so plainly than invent one. The price is the same for everybody. What you get instead is a service that starts without a telephone call, clears the walkway and the steps as part of the job, takes the municipal ridge off the end of the driveway, and photographs every visit.

What happens if I cannot get to the phone?

Nothing needs to happen. The route runs on measured snow depth, not on requests. You are on it, and you stay on it until you tell us otherwise.

Can my son or daughter pay for it from out of town?

Yes. We can quote and bill one person and serve another address, and send the visit photographs to whoever you name.

Do I have to be home?

No. You do not need to be home for any visit, in summer or winter.

What if I am not happy with how it was done?

Tell us and we come back and put it right at no extra cost to you. No form and no fee for the return trip.

Is the 3 cm trigger measured at my house or somewhere else?

On the route, not at an airport. Three centimetres is the depth at which a residential driveway stops being something you can drive out of, so that is where the number is set. Below it we are still out, but it is salt and the walkway rather than the blade, and that happens without you asking for it.

One of these goes on each page and it is replaced monthly. If the question you have is not here, ask it: 905-244-5779.
