What your lawn looks like in August
By the second week of August most of the lawns on the street have gone straw coloured and crunch underfoot. Yours is still green, and still soft enough to sit on. That is what cutting high every seven days buys you, and it is why the schedule never skips a week.
Some of the best work on a lawn is not in the membership. Aeration, overseeding, fertilizer, beds and mulch are priced in the open on the add-ons page, and once a year we run the Full Lawn Restoration, from $600 plus HST.

What weekly mowing costs in Durham Region, and why a membership is cheaper
Weekly mowing bought on its own starts at $75 a cut plus HST, because the slot holds a fixed place on the route for 26 weeks whether your lawn takes twelve minutes or thirty.
Twenty six cuts at that floor is $1,950 plus HST for mowing and nothing else. Gold is $2,268 for the year and covers the same weekly cut, both cleanups and the driveway plowed after every storm from November 1. When to stop cutting grass in Oshawa sets out where the season ends.
The four things we do, every single time
Edge, mow, trim, blow off. Consistency is the whole product, so no visit skips one of the four, and none of them is an upsell.
What each step actually means
1 · Edge
A clean vertical line along driveways, walkways and bed edges, done first so the mow picks up whatever the edger throws. This is the detail that makes a property read as maintained rather than just cut.
2 · Mow
We cut at about three inches and raise it to three and a half in July heat, alternating direction every week so the mower never runs the same line twice. That prevents ruts and stops the grass developing a grain.
3 · Trim
Around every post, tree, fence line and foundation, cut to exactly the mow height with the trimmer head held level. Done properly you cannot tell where the mower stopped and the trimmer started.
4 · Blow off
Driveway, walkways, patio and steps cleared, working from the house outward. Clippings go back onto the turf, never into the street or your neighbour's property.

Why your lawn may look slightly longer than the neighbours'
We mow high on purpose. Low mowing produces a shallow root system, and the shallow rooted lawn is the one that browns out in July. Taller grass grows deeper roots, shades its own soil and crowds out weed seed.
We mulch your clippings back into the lawn: at no charge
Clippings are roughly 85% water and break down within days, putting nitrogen back into the soil and cutting the fertilizer the lawn needs by 20 to 35%. They do not cause thatch. We only bag when growth would smother the turf.

Spring cleanup
The visit that resets the property after winter. Winter debris cleared, matted grass and snow mould raked out, beds cut back, every edge reset, drains and window wells cleared. The first cut happens once the turf is actually growing.

Every leaf off the lawn and out of the beds, because leaves left under snow smother the grass and you see the damage in April. Drains cleared, perennials cut back, a final cut slightly shorter, snow markers in at the end. If your trees drop late, expect us twice at no extra charge.

The one third rule: we never take more than a third of the blade in a single cut. If growth gets ahead of us we take a third now and come back in three or four days.

Common questions
What if it rains on my service day?
A bit of rain does not stop a cut and I work through it. Standing water or a heavy downpour is different: a saturated lawn ruts and scalps under the machine, and that damage costs more to repair than one missed day. The visit moves inside 48 hours and you get a text before you notice.
Do I need to be home?
No. Tell me once where the gate latch is, whether there is a dog, and where the truck should sit, and it stays in your file permanently. You will get photos after every visit.
Do you spray for weeds?
No, and neither can anyone else legally: Ontario's cosmetic pesticide ban prohibits spraying lawns for appearance. The answer left is density, which is what mowing high and returning the clippings is for. The five-step fertilizer program is a paid add-on and is included on Platinum.
Can I get lawn care only, without the snow?
You can have the lawn without the driveway, and that is Silver at $129 a month plus HST. It is not a summer only membership: the windrow still comes off the end of your driveway after every storm. Gold adds the driveway itself for $189 a month plus HST.

What happens in a drought? Do I still pay for a visit that did not happen?
We skip rather than cut, and we tell you why. Cutting a dormant lawn damages it. The payment does not change, because the payment is twelve equal instalments for a season rather than a charge per visit, and the same arrangement is what stops a twenty four storm winter costing you more than a four storm one. A contractor who mows on schedule through August because the schedule says so is charging you to hurt your grass.
