Why we work in Courtice & Clarington

Courtice sits directly against the Oshawa border, which makes it the easiest bolt-on to our main routes anywhere in Clarington. Big lots, wide driveways, and no local transit: the conditions that make year-round service pay for itself.

The Courtice neighbourhoods we serve

Serving Courtice, Newcastle, Hampton, Enniskillen and Newtonville.

Courtice: the easiest addition to our Oshawa routes

Geographically Courtice is minutes from our base, which means the same early clearing times our Oshawa customers get. Properties here tend to have spacious lots and long driveways, so the value gap between a seasonal contract and shovelling it yourself is wider than almost anywhere else we work.

Newcastle and the smaller communities

Newcastle has a good mix of new build and established homes, with strong snow uptake among retirees who simply shouldn't be shovelling. We serve Hampton, Enniskillen and Newtonville case by case: long rural driveways take real plow time, so we price them properly rather than pretending otherwise.

Snow clearing in Courtice

Long Clarington driveways are exactly where seasonal snow contracts make the most financial sense. A per-visit plow on a 100-foot driveway adds up fast across twenty-five storms.

What you get in Courtice & Clarington

Weekly lawn service

Roughly 26 visits from mid-April to mid-November. Edge, mow, trim and blow off, the same day every week, same person, same standard.

Unlimited snow clearing on Gold and Platinum

Seasonal contract from mid-November to mid-April. Driveway, walkways and front steps cleared, with no per-storm charges and no cap on visits.

Cleared before you leave: our 7 AM target after overnight snow.

On Silver, winter backup instead of a plow. You shovel the driveway. We take the windrow the city leaves at the end of it, after every storm, all winter. Four banked clears a season, on request.

Your year at a glance

We're not plowing your driveway. We're still there after every storm.

Silver isn't a snow membership. You told us you've got the driveway. But your membership runs twelve months, so we're there twelve months. After every storm we run, we come back in the daytime and take the windrow off the end of your driveway: the ridge the city plow leaves behind, the heaviest, iciest part of the whole job. You shovel your driveway. We take the part that makes people give up.

Silver: Lawn Care & Winter Backup

What Silver gets after every storm

We're not plowing your driveway. We're still there after every storm.

The windrow pass

What we take. The municipal windrow cleared off the driveway apron, full width, to the surface. Nothing else on the driveway. The member clears their own driveway.

When. A daytime pass, on the same day Northline runs the member snow route, after the municipal plow has been through. Cleared by 5 PM.

Every storm. Every storm for which the member snow route runs. Same trigger, same day. If the municipal plow comes through after our pass, the windrow is taken on the next pass.

The windrow pass is not driveway clearing. The member clears the driveway; Northline clears the ridge the municipal plow leaves across the end of it.

Four banked clears a season

What it is. A full clear (driveway, walkway and front steps), exactly as a Gold member's, but on request and four times a season.

What it is for. The storms that beat you. Away, ill, Christmas morning, the 30 cm one.

When. Served after the member route is complete, never during it. Same day if requested before the route rolls; otherwise the next available pass.

Unused visits do not carry over to the following season.

What Silver does not get

No driveway plowing. No 7 AM target. No walkway or steps except on a banked clear. No salting. No entrance widening. Those are Gold's, and they are what Gold is sold on.

No driveway plowing. Gold plows the driveway, unlimited visits, every storm.

No 7 AM target. The windrow pass is a daytime pass, cleared by 5 PM; the 7 AM target after overnight snow is Gold's.

No walkway or steps except on a banked clear. Gold clears the walkway full width and the front steps every storm.

No salting. Salt is on request at Gold and unlimited and automatic at Platinum.

No entrance widening. The driveway entrance is widened all winter at Gold.

Courtice and Clarington questions

How far into Clarington do you actually go?

Courtice is minutes from our Oshawa base and gets the same early clearing times our Oshawa members get. Newcastle is a full route of its own. Hampton, Enniskillen and Newtonville we take case by case, because a long rural driveway is real plow time and we would rather price it properly than quote a town rate and resent the job.

My driveway is a hundred feet of gravel. How do you price that, and when is it cleared?

We quote it on what it takes to clear rather than on a flat residential rate, and gravel gets a slightly higher blade so we are not scraping your surface into the snowbank. Long Clarington driveways are where a seasonal contract makes the most financial sense in our whole service area, because a per-visit plow on a hundred feet adds up fast across twenty-five storms.

The membership prices themselves are the same everywhere we work: $129, $189 or $279 a month plus HST, and what a long rural driveway changes is the property survey behind the quote, not the rate card.

We target before 7 AM for Gold members and 6:30 AM for Platinum after overnight snow. That is a target rather than a guarantee for every storm, and on a long rural driveway in a big event it is the one most likely to move.

Clay-loam soil and no spraying allowed. What actually works on a Courtice lawn?

The same three things every time, done properly. Cut at three inches so the turf shades its own roots and crowds out weed seed. Core aerate in the window that runs from September into early October, because clay-loam compacts and a big Courtice lot usually has a play area or a trailer parked on part of it. Overseed into the aeration holes the same week.

Ontario banned cosmetic pesticides in 2009, so that is not a preference of ours, it is the law and it is the whole weed program. Anyone knocking on your door offering to spray is offering to break it on your property.
