The arithmetic on a medium property

Why one company for both is not just a discount
The real saving is not the money. It is that the person who cut the grass in August knows where the irrigation heads are, where the soft edge of the driveway is and which side the garbage goes out on, in February, at six in the morning, in the dark. A plow operator who has never seen the property in daylight is the reason most driveway edges get chewed.
It is also one agreement, one payment and one person to telephone, rather than two contractors who each blame the other for the strip of lawn by the road.
What the twelve payments actually do
Lawn work happens May to November and snow work happens November to May, but the payment is the same amount every month, taken on the last day. That is deliberate. It means no $1,200 invoice in the week before Christmas, and it means the summer is not subsidising a bill you have forgotten is coming.
Mowing on its own, for comparison
Weekly mowing bought with no membership starts at $75 a cut plus HST, and it is a floor rather than a ceiling. Twenty six cuts at that floor is $1,950 for mowing and nothing else. Gold is $2,268 for the year and covers the same weekly cut, the spring cleanup, the fall cleanup and the driveway plowed after every storm from mid November. Three hundred and eighteen dollars buys the entire winter.
Almost nobody in Durham Region publishes a weekly mowing price at all, which is the main reason that comparison is hard to make anywhere else.

You pay the same every month, which is the point. Twelve equal payments cover one full lawn season and one full snow season.
Can I take just the lawn, or just the snow?
Yes. Silver is the lawn plan at $129 a month plus HST. Snow on its own for the season is $800, $975 or $1,200 plus HST for a standard property.
Is there a discount for taking both?
There is no separate bundle discount on residential work. The saving is already built into the tier price, and it is shown in the service by service comparison rather than taken off at the end.

What happens in a drought? Do I still pay for a visit that did not happen?
We skip rather than cut, and we tell you why. Cutting a dormant lawn damages it. The payment does not change, because the payment is twelve equal instalments for a season rather than a charge per visit, and the same arrangement is what stops a twenty four storm winter costing you more than a four storm one. A contractor who mows on schedule through August because the schedule says so is charging you to hurt your grass.
