Courtice is in the middle of the route, not at the end of one
Courtice has an awkward habit of sitting on the edge of everybody's service map. Townline is a municipal boundary, and a lot of operators draw their coverage at exactly that line and treat anything past it as a special trip. That is why Courtice households so often get the last slot of the day in summer and the last call of the morning in winter.
Northline runs east through Courtice between Oshawa and Bowmanville, so these streets sit in the middle of the run rather than at the far end of it. Practically, that means a Courtice property gets a fixed weekly service day like anywhere else, and it keeps that day all season.
Weekly, the same day, every week
One weekday, assigned when you join, held from May 1 to November 1. That is roughly 26 visits. Nothing to book, nothing to confirm, and no need to be home. Platinum members choose their day first; on Silver and Gold the day is set to fit the route and then it does not move.
The reason this is worth stating at all is that irregular scheduling is what most people actually complain about with lawn services. A lawn cut on Monday one week and Friday the next is being cut on an eleven day cycle and then a three day one, and the lawn shows it long before anybody works out why.
Edge, then mow, then trim
Every visit runs in that order.
Edging first gives the mower a hard line to cut to, so the mowing pass buries the edge as it goes. The common alternative is to mow first and then chase a tidy edge with a string trimmer afterwards, which shaves a narrow strip of turf down to soil along every walkway and leaves a pale band that takes two weeks to grow back. In the right order you get an edge, not a scar.
After mowing, the trimmer finishes what a deck cannot reach: fence lines, tree rings, the hydro pole, the mailbox post, the downspout splash pads, the front of the beds. Then the driveway, the walk and the porch are blown clean, back onto the lawn rather than out into the road, so the clippings stay where they do some good.
Why the service is weekly and never biweekly
Most lawn pricing advertised in Durham Region is biweekly pricing, and the weekly version, where there is one, sits on a higher tier that nobody publishes a number for. Northline only sells weekly.
The reason is that a cool season lawn should lose no more than about a third of its blade in a single cut. In the first half of July, on a watered lawn on one of the larger lots around Pebblestone or Hancock, two weeks of growth is far past a third. So the biweekly cut has to drop the mower a long way to finish at a normal height, and three things happen. The lawn browns at the tips for the best part of a week. The clippings come off heavy enough to leave rows and clumps, and clumps sitting on turf yellow the grass underneath. And it all lands in the hottest two weeks of the year, when the plant has the least in reserve.
That is how a lawn goes thin in August, and thin turf in August is what people are looking at in September when they start pricing overseeding. A weekly cut takes a little off often, leaves clippings fine enough to disappear, and keeps one height from April through to November.
One flat payment, twelve times a year, covering both seasons
A Northline membership is billed in twelve equal payments, taken on the last day of the month. The same figure in June as in January. It covers the weekly lawn season and the snow season together, in one agreement, with one company.
Work the comparison out properly. Take whatever per cut price you have been quoted, multiply it by 26 for a full Courtice lawn season, and treat that as your summer. Then add a separate winter arrangement, because the crew billing you by the visit is not clearing your driveway in January as a courtesy.
Set that against Silver at $129 a month plus HST, which is $1,548 a year before tax and covers both halves of the year. Gold is $189 a month and Platinum is $279 a month, on the same twelve payment schedule. Prepaying the year takes 5 percent off: $1,470.60, $2,154.60 or $3,180.60.
The part nobody quotes is the paperwork. Per cut billing produces a different amount every month, a stack of invoices by autumn, and usually one disagreement about whether a particular week happened. Twelve identical payments produce one number you recognize on sight, and any month that does not match it is obvious immediately.
The three memberships
Silver, $129 a month plus HST
Weekly lawn care on your set day through the season, edge then mow then trim, hard surfaces blown clean. In winter Silver covers the windrow, the packed ridge the plow leaves across the bottom of the driveway, on a separate daytime pass by 5 PM. Silver does not include clearing the driveway itself. It suits a household that can handle its own driveway but wants the heaviest part of it dealt with and the lawn run properly.
Gold, $189 a month plus HST
Everything in Silver, plus the whole driveway cleared in winter against a 7 AM target after overnight snow. Along Courtice Road and through the newer streets off Prestonvale, where a lot of households commute west in the morning, this is the tier that usually decides it.
Platinum, $279 a month plus HST
Everything in Gold, sequenced first with a 6:30 AM target, unlimited automatic salting through the winter, and first choice of service day in the lawn season. Platinum also includes the seasonal fertilizer program, which on Silver and Gold is a paid add on at $300 to $600 a season. Fertilizer is never part of the weekly lawn visit on any tier. It is a separate program with its own timing, and on Platinum its cost already sits inside the monthly payment.
Courtice neighbourhoods on the route
Northline cuts across Prestonvale, along Courtice Road, out to Townline, and through Hancock and Pebblestone.
They are not the same properties. The streets off Prestonvale and along Townline are established, with regular lots and mature trees, so a visit there is a fair amount of trimming as well as mowing. Hancock and Pebblestone run to bigger lots and newer construction on the north side, where turf is younger and builder topsoil is thinner, and where cutting height matters more than most homeowners are told because there is limited root depth beneath it. Courtice Road itself threads the two together, which is also how the route runs.
If you are in Courtice or elsewhere in Clarington and your street is not named here, it is still worth the call. The route already runs through the middle of town.
Paid add ons, quoted before anything begins
None of these is part of the weekly visit, and nothing proceeds without an agreed price.
- Mulch supply and installation: $110 per yard installed
- Hedge and shrub trimming: $85 an hour, two hour minimum
- Garden bed maintenance: $75 an hour
- Core aeration: $110 to $220 by lot size
- Fertilizer program: $300 to $600 a season, included on Platinum only
Tree work above ladder height, irrigation repair, hardscaping, sod and grading are not sold here. Those get a referral rather than a quote.
Owner operated, and the same person every week
The person who looks at your property is the person who cuts it every week. That is the reason the service day holds, the reason nothing lands on a bill that was not discussed, and the reason there is one phone number instead of a dispatch queue. Northline is fully insured and HST registered.
Hours are Monday to Friday 7 AM to 7 PM and Saturday 7 AM to 5 PM. Sunday is closed. Messages are answered the same day Monday to Saturday, and a Sunday inquiry is answered first thing Monday.

Lawn care in Courtice: common questions
How much does lawn care cost in Courtice?
Northline lawn care in Courtice starts at $129 a month plus HST on the Silver membership, billed in twelve equal payments taken on the last day of each month. Gold is $189 a month and Platinum is $279 a month. The payment is the same all twelve months and covers the weekly lawn season and the snow season together.
Do you serve Courtice properly, or is it the end of an Oshawa route?
Courtice sits between Oshawa and Bowmanville on the route, so it is in the middle of the run rather than at the end of it. Properties in Courtice get a fixed weekly service day from May 1 to November 1, the same as everywhere else Northline serves.
How many cuts are in a season?
Roughly 26. The lawn season runs May 1 to November 1 and visits are weekly, on the same day every week. Northline does not offer biweekly cutting, because two weeks of July growth cannot be removed in one pass without taking far more than a third of the blade, which browns the lawn and leaves clumps of clippings on the turf.
Is fertilizer part of the weekly lawn service?
No. Fertilizer is a separate paid program at $300 to $600 a season and it is included only on the Platinum membership, where its cost is already inside the monthly payment. On Silver and Gold it is an add on that is quoted and agreed before it starts.
Which parts of Courtice do you serve?
Northline serves Prestonvale, Courtice Road, Townline, Hancock and Pebblestone, along with Bowmanville and the rest of Clarington, Oshawa, Whitby, Ajax and Pickering. Service days are assigned geographically and confirmed when you join.

Lawn maintenance and property maintenance in Courtice
Lawn care in Courtice and lawn maintenance in Courtice are the same weekly visit: edge, then mow, then trim, on the same day each week from May 1 to November 1. Grass cutting in Courtice is the same service again under the name most people use for it.
Property maintenance in Courtice across the whole year means this page from May and snow removal in Courtice from November, inside one membership and twelve equal payments. Courtice sits inside Clarington, which is where most of the searching for this area actually happens.

Is the fertilizer included?
No, and I would rather say so here than have you find out in May. The five step fertilizer program is a paid add on at $300 to $600 a season, and it is included only on Platinum. The weekly visit is the cut, the trim and the blow down. Anybody describing a weekly lawn service as including a fertilizer program is selling you something nobody has bought.
One of these goes on each page and it is replaced monthly. If the question you have is not here, ask it: 905-244-5779.
